She went on to receive her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Hunter College, where she began advanced studies in manual therapy through the Institute of Physical Art (IPA).

Over the past 10+ years, she has specialized in pelvic rehabilitation for women and men, working alongside leaders in the field. She previously served as Physical Therapy Manager at Beyond Basics, a premier pelvic health clinic in NYC, where she helped train and mentor clinicians, presented educational seminars, and deepened her commitment to advancing care for this often-underserved population.

Kayla enjoyed playing volleyball from an early age which created an interest in health optimization and body mechanics. That passion for health and movement led to the field of physical therapy. Kayla stayed at The University of Findlay for graduate school for her Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree. In PT school, Kayla took an elective course in manual therapy techniques and knew immediately that she wanted to focus on manual physical therapy.

Katy has been enjoying helping her patients improve their lives since getting her physical therapy degree from S.U.N.Y. Buffalo in 1993. Over those 30+ years she has worked with a variety of patient populations including outpatient orthopedic, neurological rehabilitation, long-term care and home care before finding her niche in pelvic floor therapy. Katy first discovered pelvic floor physical therapy as a patient herself and was amazed at how much the pelvic floor affects the overall wellness and function of our entire bodies. She was equally amazed at how few people even knew what the pelvic floor was, and sadly, how little education and training medical providers receive on it.
Combined with her love of finding the root cause of the most stubborn dysfunctions and helping patients who have often seen specialist after specialist with minimal or no improvement, she was hooked. She decided to pursue additional training to specialize in pelvic floor physical therapy and women’s health and it has been her professional passion ever since.
Katy is also a RYT200 certified Yoga teacher and frequently utilizes yoga breath work and poses to enhance her patients’ care and wellness.
Outside the office you will find her playing volleyball, gardening, biking and volunteering with the ADK Mountain club and Saratoga PLAN.
